01 Hoopla 11/7/2019
Hello all,
Here is a special Thursday edition of the Hooplas for you. As we experienced wild weather out there today, there is some information to pay particular attention to in the message below.
FOR EVERYONE
Winter Weather Policy
Attached is a newsletter with important information about the
winter months.Of note is SD’s inclement weather policy,
highlighting information about what to do in the event you
student’s program is cancelled or delayed due to inclement
weather. Please review this letter thoroughly, as there is
valuable information that could save you from making an
unnecessary trip out into harsh winter conditions! If you have any
questions, please reach out to your supervisor.
End of Pay Period
The pay period ends on Sunday, 11/10. Please review and approve
your time card by 11/11.
Future PTO Requests
We are in the process of planning some extensive trainings for next summer. These will tentatively take place the week of 8/17/2020. PTO requests for this time will not be approved. Apologies for any inconvenience this may present. If you are in need of this time off for whatever reason, please reach out to your supervisor. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
Additionally, please submit any time off requests for December by
11/15. Anything requested after 11/15 will be considered
unplanned, and may not be approved.
FOR WILLISTON
The code to the front door has changed. The new code is 1103. Remember to press the # symbol after you have entered the numerical code.
FOR MONTPELIER
Thank you all for your patience as we switched around the
office. At this point most things have found their new homes and
are organized. Please help us keep it this way. If you are not
sure where something is or needs to go please check in with
Lindsay, Emily or Gabe.
If you have office hours please check your folders for what to do.
We have a space in the office to donate anything you would like to
the food bank as one of our students volunteers there weekly.
Please feel free to bring in anything you wish to donate.
Per the first flakes of snow to have fallen this season, here
comes a solicitation from none other than…
Hello friends!
Cold weather is fast-approaching and snow won’t be far behind (dun dun DUNNNN). Time for warm clothes, hearty food and SNOW TIRES!!
Derek “the tire king” Barrows would like to offer help in finding
affordable shoes for your car (or maybe just some all seasons with
some more meat). Tires are the only part of your car that touch
the road… don’t neglect them!
If you’re interested, you can email me directly (derek.barrows@sdplus.org)
using the subject line I NEED TIRES – John P. Doe.
Please include your car’s tire size and/or year, make and model.
Tire sizes look like this: 225 55 R16. 3 digit number, two digit
number, R two digit number. A budget is helpful, too!
Good snow tires can be found for as low as $150-200. Or, ball out and I’ll find you some bad a** treads that will take you to the arctic circle.
Safe travels out there!
SERIOUSLY, safe travels out there! The roads may be slick, so please drive carefully. Have a wonderful evening!
