01 Hoopla 12/18/2019
Hello all,
Here is what we have for you today:
Yankee Swap
A reminder about the Yankee Swap taking place at the Cornerstone
office on Friday night. This will take place right after the last
team meeting–plan for it to begin at 5:30. Please RSVP via the
link below by Friday at 9 AM so we have a head count for food.
Hope to see you there!
BTW, there will be THREE Grinches there!
Office Hours for 12/23 and 12/27
Office hours will be very light next week. If you would like
office hours on 12/23 or 12/27, please notify your PSI by the end
of the day tomorrow. Tasks and duration of the hours will be
decided and given to you on Friday afternoon via email. Please
note–If you request to come in for office hours but change
your mind last minute, you will be asked to take PTO for the time
you did not come in.
Company Connection
We are looking to improve our overall employee-company engagement
and continue to build SD culture. We know that many staff work
outside the hub of the office, and it can be difficult to get a
feel of what is going on with SD. So, we have searched and found a
platform to be able to recognize, reinforce and connect with
everyone in the company by using a mobile app called Kazoo! We
will be launching this app Dec. 30th and 31st. All staff will
receive an email from Kazoo at that time introducing it. You will
get instructions on how to make a profile, and information about
how to earn points, cash them in and recognize colleagues publicly
on the real time social recognition feed. We are very excited for
this launch and hope you will be too! More information to come.
Food Drive
Hey to all our amazing staff at SD!
With winter upon us, I wanted to reach
out to you all in an effort to help support a local organization!
Sadly, as we all know, hunger, homelessness, and mental illness
doesn’t change with the seasons. This time of year can be
especially difficult for those who are less fortunate. Pathways, a
local organization that works to end homelessness and other
difficulties our fellow Vermonters face, will sponsor a food drive
this winter.
WHEN: December 1st thru January
31st
WHERE: Boxes/bins will be in the
lobby for staff to put donations in (hoping to have these set up
by this Friday)
**If bins aren’t there Friday and you
have items to donate, please put in Operations office upstairs**
WHAT: Non-perishable food items
It would be so warming to fill these
boxes ten times over! You’re an awesome group of caring,
compassionate and driven people! Let’s rock this drive!
If you have any questions, email operationsadmin@sdplus.org
THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING SO AMAZING
<3
Montpelier is also sponsoring a food
drive. Please remember to bring in any donations you would like to
make during this time of giving. We have a tote in the office
that still has plenty of space in it! There is a list in the tote
of things to donate.
WELLNESS!
As we all know, the holiday season can
bring added stress to our already-busy lives. We encourage you to
take care of yourselves by staying healthy and exercising! We have
a corporate membership to Sangha Studio, a non-profit yoga studio
with three locations. They have many classes with varying levels,
from the beginner student to the experienced practitioner. Below
is a link to their website with their class schedules to two of
their studios; their third location just recently opened–it is
located in the Blue Mall in South Burlington (classes for this
space are sporadic at the moment).

Additionally, SD is enrolled in group
fitness classes at Concept Move, located at 2069 Williston Rd. The
link to sign up for these classes is also below. Theses classes
combine cardio, mobility, and strength training. They get you
moving and give you a chance to spend time with coworkers in a
positive, high energy environment! They are SUPER fun!

Hopefully you have prepared for the
rigors of winter by heeding His Grace’s wisdom. If not, here is
YET ANOTHER advertisement from…
Hello friends!
Cold weather is HERE, and so is the snow (dun dun DUNNNN). Time for warm clothes, hearty food and SNOW TIRES!!
Derek “the tire king” Barrows would like to offer help in finding
affordable shoes for your car (or maybe just some all seasons with
some more meat). Tires are the only part of your car that touch
the road… don’t neglect them!
If you’re interested, you can email me directly (derek.barrows@sdplus.org)
using the subject line I NEED TIRES – John P. Doe.
Please include your car’s tire size and/or year, make and model.
Tire sizes look like this: 225 55 R16. 3 digit number, two digit
number, R two digit number. A budget is helpful, too!
Good snow tires can be found for as low as $150-200. Or, ball out and I’ll find you some bad a** treads that will take you to the Arctic Circle.
Safe travels out there!
A wise television host once said, “Take care of yourselves, and each other.” Please do that over this holiday season! Enjoy the time spent with family and friends! Have a good night.
