RE: Coronavirus Update
Good afternoon,
We here at SD are working to do our part in minimizing community risk of exposure to and spread of the Coronavirus according to the CDC and the Vermont Department of Health. As such, our insurance funded services will be effected. In addition to our early closure (no shift 3) on Tuesday 3/17/2020, our office will be closed and all services will be canceled on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week (3/18-3/20/2020) to allow ourselves to prepare for the upcoming changes.
While this is not an easy decision for us, we are doing our best to follow all recommendations put out by the CDC, Vermont Department of Health, and our funding sources. As such, effective Monday, March 23, 2020 all home and community based services for school-aged children will be suspended through April 6, 2020. The Sparklers program will reopen on Monday, March 23, 2020. During this break in services, Tele-health parent training services will be made available upon request.
If your child is currently enrolled in the Sparklers program OR if he/she is 6 or under, we have the capacity to expand our Sparklers program to provide in-house (at the SD Office) services to these children. Services will be offered between 8:00-3:00, with the length of session not exceeding the clinical recommendation of your child’s behavior analyst. If you need transportation, it may be possible to arrange. Please let us know by Tuesday, March 17th at 12:00 pm if you would like your child to receive services through the Sparklers program. Please note, these services are contingent upon the availability of direct service staff and the current recommendations of the above agencies. This is our intention with the information we are sitting with today, but things are fluid and subject to change.
