01 Hoopla 12/13/17
Hello!
We are getting our snow just in time for the holidays! Thank you all for your flexibility around changes due to weather this week, and for those of you who had to travel on snowy/icy roads to get to the office/school/homes to work with clients!
We appreciate your extra efforts!
From HR/BO:
- For your convenience, we have left copies of both BC/BS waivers and 401K waivers, for those full-time employees who are electing NOT to enroll in these benefits, at the front desk. PLEASE complete them before 12/29/17 and either deliver them to the B.O. OR if there is someone at the front desk, ask them to put them in ” Ashley’s folder.” Thanks for your anticipated cooperation!
- Last chance to check PTO balances! Please check your current PTO balance. If you are in disagreement, please schedule a meeting with HR for the last week in December. You will need to come to the meeting with a printout of your PTO report (see attached “How To” from employee website) and highlight any areas that you are in disagreement with.
A message from Jenn Johnson:
- I wanted to thank everyone for their generous food donations. There have been so many that it has taken us a while to get them all over to the food shelf! We appreciate all of your support.
- The Penguin Plunge is coming on February 3rd 2018. We have historically had a team from Sd Associates and will have a team again this year! You can go to https://give.specialolympicsvermont.org/team/147596 to sign up with the team or donate. More info to come but we usually make a morning of it by getting together at someone’s house for snacks and drinks before and it has been a really fun time! If you have any questions please see Jenn Johnson.
Holiday Announcements:

If you for some really good reason you can’t make it, BIs – check in with your PSI and others check in with me!
What: an informal gathering of good people, sharing in food and spirits while wearing festive wear ( ugly sweaters, velvet holiday dresses etc ) and engaging in activities of your choice. Some could include – photo shoots, holiday bingo, musical gift unwrapping, name that tune ! Please note if such activities and ridiculousness does not appeal to you, there is no pressure and there will be the opportunity to just be with your co-workers in a no pressure social situation!
SD will provide: holiday food, holiday punch and holiday games!!!
Bring your own holiday beverage of choice if punch does not appeal to you and your holiday cheer!!
Here’s another activity to get you in the holiday spirit:
- Let’s make sure we support and help our clients in creating small gifts and or cards for their families for the holidays as this maybe the only gesture that their families get from them. Downstairs, under the sign-in/out board, is an arts and crafts holiday project to do with your clients! There are little wooden gingerbread men there to paint! All the paint and paint brushes are there too, for those of you feeling the holiday spirit
